As money was almost worthless in the city now, the people grew angry. Naturally, they blamed their troubles on Bobby’s father and that money tree. The people gathered into a mob, and demanded that the money tree be destroyed!
Bobby’s father was saddened at this prospect, for he rather liked the tree. After all, it was the most beautiful and unique tree that he had ever come across; and it was not the tree’s fault the people were so greedy.
The people, however, were on a mission, and there was no stopping them. They were determined to end their money supply problem by burning the tree to the ground. The angry mob closed in on the tree. There was no escape. Neither Bobby, nor her father could stop the mob.
